Jenny and Dan opened CyclErie to get more families on bikes. That still guides the shop — kids’ camps through CyclErie Devo, real test rides off Coal Creek Park, and inventory built for Front Range hills, not parking-lot loops. Partnering with Truemed lets qualified customers put HSA/FSA dollars toward the same Class 1 eBikes we fit and service in-house.
How it works at the shop
Same bikes you already test on the trail. Truemed just sits next to Affirm, Synchrony, and Shop Pay at checkout.
Pick a Class 1 eBike
Shop Aventon, Specialized Turbo, and other pedal-assist models in Erie or Longmont — or start online.
Select Truemed
Choose “Pay with HSA/FSA.” If Shop Pay is open, close it and check out as a guest.
Short health survey
A licensed clinician reviews your answers and, if you qualify, issues a Letter of Medical Necessity.
Pay & ride local
Use your HSA or FSA card, then pick up in-store or roll straight onto Coal Creek Trail.
What qualifies
Eligibility is individual — not automatic. Class 1 pedal-assist eBikes (motor helps only while you pedal, typically up to 20 mph) are the models that most reliably qualify.

- Traditional bikes used for fitness
- Purchases tied to a qualifying health need and an LMN
Class 2 throttle bikes, many Class 3 setups, scooters, and mopeds generally do not qualify. Tell the floor team you need HSA/FSA before they pull a demo. Your plan administrator has the final say.
Why Front Range riders use it
Pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars often stretch about 30% further than a regular card — meaningful on a $2,000–$4,000 eBike, and it stacks next to Colorado eBike tax-credit conversations when those apply.

FAQ
What is Truemed?
Truemed is CyclErie’s HSA/FSA partner. An independent licensed clinician reviews a short health survey and, if you qualify, issues a Letter of Medical Necessity so eligible purchases can be paid with pre-tax HSA or FSA funds.
Do I pay CyclErie or Truemed?
You buy the bike from CyclErie. At checkout you select Truemed as the payment method, complete eligibility, then enter your HSA/FSA card (or another card if you will reimburse later).
Why don’t I see Truemed at checkout?
Shop Pay often hides other payment options. Choose “Pay another way” or check out as a guest — a private/incognito window is the fastest fix.
Can I do this in the store?
Yes. Ask anyone on the floor. We’ll build the order on a shop iPad, select Truemed, and you can still pick up in Erie or Longmont.
What if I am not approved?
Pay with a regular card, Affirm, Synchrony, or Shop Pay — or cancel before the bike leaves the shop. Eligibility is decided by the reviewing clinician and your plan, not by CyclErie.
Is every Aventon or Specialized eBike eligible?
No. Class matters. Class 1 pedal-assist is the category most often accepted. Tell us you need a Class 1 setup and we’ll point you to the right model and size from what’s in stock.
